Baked Beans with Ground Beef

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cans baked beans 15 oz / 425g each
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions
 

Brown the Beef:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add Onion & Garlic:

  • Stir in the diced onion and garlic. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.

Season the Mixture:

  • Add smoked paprika, black pepper, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.

Add the Baked Beans:

  • Pour in both cans of baked beans. Mix until fully combined.

Sweeten & Simmer:

  • Add brown sugar. Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 10–15 minutes to thicken.

Serve:

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy warm

Notes

  • For a richer flavor: Add a splash of BBQ sauce or ketchup.
  • To make it spicy: Add chili powder, red pepper flakes, or diced jalapeños.
  • Make it smoky: Use smoked paprika or a bit of liquid smoke.
  • Storage: Keeps well in the fridge for 3–4 days; reheats perfectly.
  • Serving ideas: Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, toast, or with cornbread.
