Cook the Shrimp
In the same skillet, add a little olive oil.
Add shrimp, season lightly, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
Make the Cream Sauce
Melt butter in the skillet. Add minced garlic and sauté 30 seconds.
Stir in flour to form a roux.
Whisk in heavy cream and milk until smooth and thick.
Add Seasonings
Stir in Parmesan, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Simmer until creamy.
Combine Everything
Add cooked pasta into the sauce, tossing until coated.
Add chicken and shrimp back to the skillet and mix gently.
Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
-
For extra flavor, blacken the chicken with Cajun seasoning.
-
Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for variation.
-
Shrimp cooks fast—avoid overcooking.
-
Use penne or rigatoni instead of fettuccine if preferred.
-
Sauce thickens as it sits; add milk or pasta water to loosen leftovers.
