  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk or half-and-half

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

For Garnish

  • Fresh parsley
  • Extra Parmesan

Instructions

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.

Cook the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet.
  • Add chicken strips and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Cook 5–6 minutes until brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp

  • In the same skillet, add a little olive oil.
  • Add shrimp, season lightly, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.

Make the Cream Sauce

  • Melt butter in the skillet. Add minced garlic and sauté 30 seconds.
  • Stir in flour to form a roux.
  • Whisk in heavy cream and milk until smooth and thick.

Add Seasonings

  • Stir in Parmesan, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer until creamy.

Combine Everything

  • Add cooked pasta into the sauce, tossing until coated.
  • Add chicken and shrimp back to the skillet and mix gently.
  • Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

Serve

  • Top with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, blacken the chicken with Cajun seasoning.
  • Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for variation.
  • Shrimp cooks fast—avoid overcooking.
  • Use penne or rigatoni instead of fettuccine if preferred.
  • Sauce thickens as it sits; add milk or pasta water to loosen leftovers.
