Ingredients

  • For the Beef Ribs
  • 3 –4 lbs country-style beef ribs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • For the Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard optional

Instructions

Prep the Ribs

  • Pat the ribs dry and rub them with olive oil, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Bake Low and Slow

  • Place ribs in a baking dish, cover tightly with foil, and bake at 300°F (150°C) for 2 ½ – 3 hours until tender.

Make the Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and vinegar.

Glaze the Ribs

  • Drain liquid from the baking dish, then brush the ribs generously with the BBQ glaze.

Caramelize

  • Return ribs to the oven uncovered at 425°F (220°C) for 10–12 minutes, or broil for a sticky caramelized finish.

Serve

  • Serve hot with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or cornbread.

Notes

  • For extra-tender ribs, extend the initial bake to 3 ½ hours.
  • Use honey instead of brown sugar for a deeper sweetness.
  • Country-style ribs are meatier than traditional ribs — perfect for oven baking.
  • Store leftovers up to 3 days; reheat covered to maintain juiciness.
