- ½ lb shrimp peeled & deveined
- ½ lb mussels cleaned
- ½ lb firm white fish cod, haddock, or tilapia
- ¼ lb calamari rings optional
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 can 14 oz crushed tomatoes
- 3 cups seafood or vegetable broth
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp dried thyme or basil
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley & lemon wedges for garnish
Sauté aromatics: Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft, then stir in garlic until fragrant.
Build the base: Add crushed tomatoes, broth. Season with herbs, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Add seafood: Start with fish, then add shrimp, mussels, and calamari. Cover and simmer until mussels open and shrimp turn pink (6–8 minutes).
Finish & serve: Adjust seasoning, discard unopened mussels, and garnish with parsley and lemon.
